Ta’ Pinu National Shrine, is next month hosting an International Mariological-Marian Symposium Mother of the Church and within the Church Bible – Liturgy -Theology – Pastoral Activity, on the 1st and 2nd of June.

An exhibition by Daniel Scerri – Sacred Island – will also be taking place during the Symposium. He works on wood of all types, from driftwood to old doors.

The artist has been commissioned to paint for private collectors in Malta and all over Europe.

Some of his work includes the Via Crucis and a large painting of the Madonna at the Mother of Good Council Church in Paceville. He has also worked on decorations in Palaces in Mdina.

Scerri remarked that for him, “art is a form of prayer, and like prayer, I am totally absorbed in it.”

The Symposium will take place in the Main Hall and the programme is shown below:
