Update: The Feast of Generosity at id-Dar tal-Providenza in Siggiewi, is now in to the final 3 hours of the marathon and €300,000 has been raised so far, with organisers hoping to beat last year’s record amount of €1,255,269.

This annual fundraising marathon is on until midnight and is being broadcast live on all local television stations.

A number of distinguished personalities have attended the fundraising activity throughout the day including President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, Dr Chris Cardona representing the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition, Dr Adrian Delia as well as the Maltese Bishops.

Fr Martin Micallef, the Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, is encouraging Maltese and Gozitans “to be generous once again with the Home so that it can continue to provide the best for the residents with total respect for their individuality and rights.”
