As part or its restructuring programme and to meet new challenges and developments the Nature Trust (Malta) national council has been recomposed. It is hoped this will reflect present and future needs of the organisation so that NTM can meet the new challenges in nature protection in the Maltese Islands and the Mediterranean Region
Zachary Engerer has been co-opted on to the national council and appointed the new NTM Youths Co-ordinator. At the same time Hubert Theuma who occupied the post of Youths Co-ordinator has now been appointed as the new Hon General Secretary.
Due to Dr Alan Deidun’s appointment as chairman of an environment committee within a political party and in accordance with NTM policies that Council members cannot be active or members in any political parties, Dr Deidun has now resigned from the NTM Council. He will however retain the post of Editor for the Annual NTM scientific journal – The Central Mediterranean Naturalist – and has been appointed as one of the scientific consultants of the NGO.
The NTM Council officials are now composed as follows:
President – Vincent Attard, Hon General Secretary Hubert Theuma, Conservation Secretary Arnold Sciberras, Education Secretary Esther Sammut Carbone, Youths Co-ordinator Zachary Engerer, Rescue team Coordinator Sarah Muscat, Events and eco Tourism Coordinator Annalise Falzon and two members.
