At today’s meeting the Governing Council of the European Central Bank decided that the interest rate on the main refinancing operations and the interest rates on the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility will remain unchanged at 2.00%, 3.00% and 1.00% respectively.
Meanwhile the Bank of England has today made another half-point cut in the UK interest rates, bringing the rate down to a record low of just 1%.
