The new Munxar Local Council has reaffirmed its position against the application to build a manure clamp in its locality, which is presently under appeal.

In a statement, the Council said that all members present in its first council meeting were asked to declare their position, with everyone saying that they were against such application.

They all agreed that this project would lead to the total destruction of this tranquil locality and the quality of life of its residents, it said..

The Council also declared that it is going to take all necessary steps in order to safeguard the interest of the residents and the locality.

The Munxar Local Council concluded by appealing to the authorities concerned “to consider the hundreds of objections officially received by the Planning Authority, and confirm the decision of the board of the Planning Authority to refuse this application.”

The application was rejected by the Planning Authority Board last November.
