The village of Fontana in Gozo will be celebrating the traditional feast for Jesus Christ our Saviour, on Tuesday, the 6th of August between 8pm and 10pm at Fountain Street.
In the 19th century, this feast was organised in front of the Savior’s niche located opposite the Fontana church and now Ghaqda Armar Fontana in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo will be bringing this feast back to life
It commemorates one of the pinnacles of Jesus’ earthly life, when he revealed his divinity to three of his closest disciples by means of a miraculous and supernatural light.
August the 6th is the traditional date for both calendars of Roman and Eastern rite Catholics to celebrate the Church’s feast of the Transfiguration.
