In celebration of DHL Malta’s 50th anniversary, in collaboration with NGO Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar, they have pledged to plant 50 trees by the end of 2019.

The first of these, a juvenile olive tree was planted at the beginning of July at Dar tal-Providenza in Siggiewi.

DHL said that a whole series of events will be taking place this year and employees all around the world will be part the party.

“As part of our pledge we have committed ourselves to plant an additional 49 olive trees on the grounds of Dar tal-Providenza in the Autumn,” said Charles Schiavone, Country Manager of DHL Malta.

The first tree planting ceremony was co-ordinated by Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar, which works to protect Malta’s trees, and saw the participation of DHL Malta’s management team. Director of Dar tal-Providenza, Fr Martin Micallef attended the event along with a number of volunteers.

As an International company, DPDHL said that it engages in climate protection and is committed to a very bold target: zero emissions by 2050.
