A scheme has just been announced which will see Gozo Channel ticket costs being refunded for those crossing with electric cars during the Santa Marija Feast.

The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana, said that the Ministry for Gozo scheme will cover electric cars crossing to Gozo between the 12th and 17th of August.

Dr Caruana explained that in order to continue to implement the government’s vision to see that Gozo really becomes an ecological island, the Ministry for Gozo’s EcoGozo Directorate will be financing this scheme.

“Through this initiative, the Directorate is contributing to reducing the emissions caused by the influx of vehicles on the island,” said the Minister.

This scheme, which is being launched for the feast of the Assumption will start at 5am on Monday, the 12th of August and closes at midnight on Saturday, the 17th of August.

The Minister explained that it is important that owners of electric cars present their logbook at the Gozo Channel ticket booths to benefit from this scheme. Terms and conditions apply.
