Calypsoed – music festival which will be taking place near to the tourist site of Calypso Cave in Xaghra, has been launched by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana

Hosted by Xaghra United Football Club, the highlight of the festival will be the summer concert during the evening by popular group The Travellers.

Minister for Gozo explained that this is an opportunity to promote not just local talent but also our cultural and natural heritage, especially considering that Calypso Cave and the surrounding area is one of the important tourist attractions on Gozo

Dr Caruana added that the festival will be held in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo, thanks to funding through the cultural activities scheme.

Calypsoed is taking place this Saturday, the 31st of August, from 9.00pm until 2.00am Entertainment will be provided by Gozitan DJ Jora, who will be warming up the crowd from 9pm, followed with performances by The Travellers, Grove Street and DJ Pierre Cordina, among others.

Xaghra United FC said that there will be an entry donation at the door.
