The 9th annual Puttinu Fun Walk is taking place in Gozo, later this month, organised by the Puttinu Cares Gozo Committee.
The walk, which is on Sunday, the 22nd of September, is an initiative of the staff of the Gozo General Hospital in collaboration with Puttinu Cares Gozo.
During the launch, Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana, said that besides the altruistic gesture behind this initiative, that of raising funds – the Committee is also promoting another important message – that we need to adopt a more healthy lifestyle through exercise and a balanced diet to reduce the incidence of chronic diseases.
“It is also delivering a strong message of solidarity, something that we Maltese are renowned for,” said Dr Caruana, who urged as many people as possible to take part in the walk.
Carmel Camilleri, on behalf of the Puttinu Cares Gozo Committee, thanked the Ministry for Gozo for its commitment towards these activities and thanked everyone involved who will be contributing towards the success of the event.
The fun walk will leave from the rear entrance gate of the Gozo General hospital at 4.00pm towards Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary and back.
The walk is part of the programme of events organised for European Mobility Week – under the theme Walk With Us.
Everyone is invited to join in this solidarity walk in support of Puttinu Cares, the Foundation which helps children who are suffering from cancer, as well as their families.
