A full programme of events is planned in Gozo for European Mobility Week 2019. The Ministry for Gozo, together with the of local councils Ghajnsielem and Gharb, will be joining more than 2,380 towns and cities to mark the annual event to promote mobility in the European Union.
Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana, said that these events come under the umbrella of an important initiative launched by the Ministry – ProAct – Protect Gozo, where more environmentally friendly initiatives are being deployed for the enhancement of the island.
This year the theme in Gozo is – Walk With Us and Dr Caruana explained that these initiatives will echo the European Mobility Week call to encourage more people to make use of alternative transport.
She added that as well as the programme of events taking place next week, Ghajnsielem and Gharb local councils will be organising clean-up campaigns, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of maintaining a clean countryside and not relying on the fact that someone will clean up behind you.
The Mayor of Gharb David Apap Agius and Ghajnsielem Mayor Kevin Cauchi, both gave details about next week’s programme of events organised in their respective villages and gave thanks to the Minister for Gozo for her help and support. Various activities will be also be held across Gozo from the 16th till the 22nd of September which include: Free Open Air Exercise Classes – Bike Rides – Children’s Activities – Treasure Hunt … and much more. The full programme of events around Gozo are shown below.
One of the initiatives will be a Treasure Hunt at the Gozo Citadel, taking place on Sunday, the 22nd of September.
Participants will have the opportunity to re-live this spectacular fort with a difference with a chance to win €500 in cash….
