Gozo Opera Month with programme of activities all linked to opera

Gozo Opera Month second edition has been launched by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana, with a full month of activities which are linked to opera in Gozo.
Dr Caruana said that “it is a mission of the Gozo Ministry to establish Gozo as a number one destination in terms of this craft -Thus the Gozo Opera Month was launched with the belief that Gozo offers strong cultural talent in this sector.”
“This year we are building on the success of last year through a whole month devoted to the theme of opera, an approach that goes beyond the stately opera theatres, but to be at the heart of the island Gozo,” she said.
The Minister went on to say that, “also this year, for the first time and with the full support of the Ministry for Gozo, the Classique Foundation will feature another opera – Bo-Peep original work of Maestro Vella, bringing the total of operas during this year’s Opera Month to three.”
“All this is being done so that the public can have different cultural experiences during this month filled with activities to suit the taste of many people from different spheres of life and even of different ages,” she added.
Minister Caruana concluded by thanking the musical societies of La Stella and Leone and the Classique Foundation, as well as those who are actively participating during the month.
