On Wednesday, Gozo General Hospital celebrated World Pharmacists day by organising two sets of informative lectures.
The first was directed to the general public and the other to the hospital’s health care professionals.
The hospital said that the talk for the general public covered several topics such as how to store and take medicines, the dangers of counterfeit drugs, using antibiotics correctly, the patient-pharmacist relationship and it also burst various widespread myths related to medicine.
The second talk was aimed at health care professionals and elaborated on the phenomenon of Antimicrobial Resistance and what we can do to counter this serious global threat.
Apart from the very interesting talks, attendees also enjoyed a range of healthy snacks and drinks that were offered for free.
The Gozo General Hospital congratulated the organisers on their initiative.
