Gozo Animal Day has been celebrated this weekend with different initiatives including St Francis Feast Fair in Ghajnsielem on Sunday, with the blessing of animals and pets.

Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana, as part of the celebrations, said that in collaboration with the Malta Rabbit Club, the Ministry has started introducing pet therapy, with visits by members of the club and their rabbits to schools, homes for the elderly and senior centres across the island.Pet therapy being introduced for children and the elderly in GozoEarlier this year, Dr Caruana said that pet therapy services were also being organised for the elderly through the Animal Welfare Gozo section.
