The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana has had a courtesy meeting with Gozitan athlete Rachel Ann Said following her recent success abroad.

In October the Gozitan athlete represented Gozo and Malta in the WDFPF World Championships in Powerlifting 2019, in Halle, Germany.

Rachel achieved second place and a silver medal in her weight class, that of 47.5kg. Rachel also succeeded in reaching her best personal records – in bench of 50kg – and deadlift of 110kg.

Dr Caruana congratulated Rachel on her achievements and presented her with a small memento, while wishing her well for future successes.
