Citadel clock mechanism to be restored with work to start this month

The famous Citadel clock is to be restored. The Directorate for Cultural Heritage within the Ministry for Gozo has advised that restoration work will be carried out on the 18th century clock mechanism, which is situated in the tower of St Michael’s Bastion at the Citadel.
Work should start during the second week of January and is planned to be completed in August 2020.
The restoration project, funded by the Ministry for Gozo, has been entrusted to the firm C. Schembri Watchmakers and is being carried out in consultation with the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage.
