Work on the Nadur Road project is now underway, after a year and a half being closed to traffic, Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri said.

He was speaking during a visit to the €8 million project. He said that “this arterial road linking Mgarr to Nadur is finally getting the attention it deserves after being left in a poor state of repair for many years despite being a busy road.”

The Minister explained that all permits have been issued and geological tests were completed as were the structural designs.

The project includes the complete reconstruction of the road, added security features along the way to reduce the risk of accidents, rebuilding of retaining and rubble walls, as well as installing the necessary services under the road, Minister Camilleri thanked Transport Malta for their assistance in this project.

The Minister also said that work on Triq iz- Zewwieqa is now complete with an investment of just under € 300,000, and will be able to serve as an alternative route for the Nadur Road.

The Minister for Gozo concluded by thanking all workers, who regardless of the situation we are in, continued their work on the construction and safety of roads for Gozitans.
