3 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered Supt. of Public Health, Prof Charmaine Gauci, said in the briefing on Tuesday This brings the total number of cases to 110.

Prof Gauci said that this number reported over the last 24-hours were all imported cases, with 292 tests carried out. She went on to point out that the drop in numbers does not mean that the worst is over.

Gauci explained that patients are in good health and the elderly person who was put in ITU due to complications he developed, is currently being given combination therapy.

The 3 cases area as follows:

A 20-year old woman, returned from London and had been in quarantine since arriving back in Malta.

A 20-year old female university student returned from overseas on the 9th March, and attended a lecture the following day. However, Prof Gauci said that because 14-days had gone by since she attended the lecture, it is unlikely that any any students would have contracted the virus. She added that they will be carrying out contact tracing.

A 49-year old American male living in Malta and had travelled to Austria, returning 14th March. The man went into quarantine on his return, only having contact with 1 member of his family.
