A 33-year old motorcyclist from Victoria was grievously injured in a traffic accident last night in Xewkija, Gozo.

Police said that the accident happened at around 7.10 on Monday evening in Triq Jean De La Vallette.

The man, who was riding a Peugeot motorbike, was involved in a accident with a Mercedes Benz being driven by a 45-year-old woman, also from Victoria.

The motorcyclist was taken to the Gozo General Hospital for necessary treatment, where he was later certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing
