Health Authorities have said that 12 new Covid-19 cases has been recorded in the past 24-hours, with 2 of them part of the same cluster of those that attended the `Hotel Takeover Summer 2020′ event, 5 cases are related to the St. Venera feast cluster in Malta, while the remaining 5 are “sporadic cases.

There have been no new recoveries. This means that there are currently 46 active cases. There have been 720 in total, with 665 recoveries and 9 deaths.

1,615 swab tests were taken during the last 24-hours. The total number of swabs taken since the start being 123,963.

in an update the Authorities said that “in addition to the above active cases, a total of 66 positive cases form part of the cohort of disembarked migrants in Malta yesterday.” This  would in fact make the number of active cases 112.

The Government said on Monday evening that all 94 migrants admitted to Malta were isolated and swabbed for Covid-19.

So far, it said that the swab results of 85 of these migrants are available. 65 of these 85 migrants have tested positive. It added that swab tests from the remaining 9 migrants are pending and were due to be issued last night. A further 33 migrants were brought into Malta this morning.

Public Health Authorities said that anyone who needs to take a test should call 111 to set an appointment, even if they do not have any symptoms. It is to be noted that due to the large volume of calls, it can take some time to get through.

All 3 swabbing centres are open daily Monday to Sunday, including the one in Gozo.
