A 42-year-old man died this afternoon while he was swimming at Comino. Police said the man found himself in difficulties while swimming near the Santa Marija Caves, the incident happened at about 3pm
Emergency Response and Rescue Corps members administered first aid and the man, a resident of St Paul’s Bay, was then transferred to Mgarr, Gozo, where a medical team from the Gozo General Hospital provided assistance, but the man was later pronounced dead.
A Magisterial Inquiry is underway and Police investigations are ongoing.
