The Gozo Police have advised that a 57-year old man from in Birkirkara, was for some time in a critical condition after being involved in a traffic accident in Mgarr Road, Ghajnsielem.

The Police said that the motorcyclist has now been certified as suffering from grievous injuries, whilst a pillion rider, a 25 year old man from Birkirkara was certified as suffering from slight injuries.

The accident happened at around 8.00am this morning, when the man was driving his Yamaha motorcycle, along Mgarr Road and it was in a collision with a Ford Fiesta.

The Ford Fiesta was being driven by an 18 year-old man from Xaghra.

Police investigations are ongoing.
