There have been 14 new Covid-19 cases recorded, health authorities have said, meaning there are now 199 active cases.

The authorities said that these results reflect swabs carried out between 6am and midnight yesterday.

It also reiterated that as yesterday, “most of todays cases did not go to work when symptomatic.” 5 cases are related to a cluster in Paceville, 3 are family members of previously known cases, while the remaining cases are sporadic. Contact tracing is ongoing.

This means that there are 874 cases, 666 have recovered and there have been 9 deaths.

Authorities said that 1,438 swab tests were taken during the last 24-hours. The total number of swabs taken since the start being 131,603.

Public Health Authorities said that anyone who needs to take a test should call 111 to set an appointment, even if they do not have any symptoms. It is to be noted that due to the large volume of calls, it can take some time to get through.

All 3 swabbing centres are open every day, including the one in Gozo, however appointments must be made.
