An 98-year old man has died while being positive with Covid-19, he passed away earlier today at Mater Dei Hospital.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry for Health said that the man tested positive for Covid-19 on the 6th of September and was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital from a care home. He is the 22nd person to die with the virus.

The Ministry said that the elderly man was “in poor health.”

The Ministry, while offering its condolences to the patient’s family, reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the public health guidelines, including frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask.
