The Malta Union of Nurses and Midwives have withdrawn directives issued to nursing staff not to administer the seasonal flu vaccine.
The directives had been issued because of an outstanding dispute with the Government over meal allowances and leave.
This had meant that the seasonal flu vaccination service was interrupted in a number of localities across Gozo and Malta, with only around 1000 vaccinations given on Sunday.
The news was announce on Twitter by Health Minister Chris Fearne, who said that “good sense has prevailed,” urging everyone to, “Get Vaccinated.”
