A 59-year old man has died “while he was positive with Covid-19.” He is the 45th person to die with the virus.
The Ministry for Health in a statement on Wednesday said that the man was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on the 1st of October and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 the next day.
The man continued to be treated in the Intensive Care Unit at Mater Dei Hospital, where he died earlier today.
The Ministry said the man “had underlying health conditions.”
The Health Ministry, while offering its condolences to the patient’s family, once again reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the public health guidelines, including frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask.
