PAINtings – is the title of an important new temporary exhibition by prominent Gozitan artist George Scicluna, during which a wide range of paintings, including his latest, will be on display.

Scicluna’s exhibition is being held at Il-Hagar Museum, and will be inaugurated by Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri on Saturday, the 5th of December.

Spread over various parts of this cultural centre, it offers until the 12th of January a great experience – for both those who have already experienced Scicluna’s art and also for others who will have the opportunity to get to know this talented personality.

Born in Victoria in 1966, George had already begun winning prizes by the age of sixteen. He studied in Malta and in Italy, where he also had work experience. He has exhibited locally and overseas, including participating in collective and joint exhibitions. George has been described as “a powerful and bold expressionist.”

Number 10 in the Il-Hagar GEMS series – accompanying PAINtings – will give the public a detailed view of the work in its over sixty colour pages.

Because of the current directives relating to the Covid-19 pandemic, to ensure social distancing, there will be multiple opening sessions: 10.30am, 12pm, 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, the 5th and 11.30am on Sunday, the 6th of December. Kindly book by indicating your preferred time to info@heartofgozo.org.mt.

All are invited – the Exhibition can be visited during the normal opening hours of 9am to 5pm, seven days a week. There is no entry fee.

Il-Hagar Museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria.
