The Government has announced that despite attempts to resolve the dispute with the MUT, the conciliation talks have failed and therefore there will be no lessons in Government schools tomorrow.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport said that it’s primary responsibility is to protect the best interests of the children and that it cannot guarantee the safety of children during the strike.

Therefore, the Directorate for Educational Services wishes to inform parents that tomorrow, Thursday, the 30th of April, there will be no classes in Government schools.

However the schools will remain open for those workers who wish to come to work.

The Ministry and the Directorate of Education, said it recognises and appreciates the service given by teachers and other educators, and remains committed to always find ways to support more teachers and educators in Malta and Gozo.
