The National Blood Transfusion Service thanked the 32 people who donated blood in Gozo last Sunday.

This is the time of year when we are choosing presents for those around us, what better gift can there be than the gift of helping a life, so during the Christmas season, and in this year of the pandemic, please consider doing just that by donating blood.

The Service said that this will be possible during the next session, which is on Tuesday, the 15th of December.

Sunday’s session will be held at the Blood Donation Centre in Xewkija, between 1:pm and 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm).

The donation centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.

Anyone currently waiting to take a Covid-19 test, or who has had the test and is waiting for the result, cannot give blood.

The Service stressed that due to the Covid-19 situation all necessary measures are being taken to protect anyone who comes to donate blood, as well as the professionals who provide them with a service.

The next blood donation session in Gozo will be on Sunday, the 20th of December, between 1pm and 5pm.
