Yuletide Bliss during this festive season with Gozo's Gaulitanus ChoirGozo’s Gaulitanus Choir said that it is making sure that it “does its bit to help brighten up the season for the community,” during this festive season, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

While fully adhering with current Covid-19 regulations, the choir said it will be presenting a mini-series of three varied musical events between Christmas and the New Year, entitled – Yuletide Bliss.

Strings in Concert – is the first event and features the Gaulitanus String Orchestra led by Marcelline Agius, conducted by Colin Attard. The repertoire will include some well-known classical works for strings, among which Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik,” Jenkins’s concerto grosso “Palladio,” and Rowley’s “A Christmas Suite.”

The concert is being held at the Sannat Parish Church on Sunday, the 27th of December, starting at 7.30pm.

Violinist Pierre Louis Attard and Serbian pianist Milica Lawrence, will feature in the second concert – Folk-Inspired: A Violin-Piano Recital – when the evening will consist of a number of flowing and catchy folk-inspired classical works from different countries, including Malta.

The concert is being held at the Kempinski San Lawrenz on Tuesday, the 29th of December starting at 7.30pm.

The mini-series comes to an end with the 9th edition of -A New Year’s Toast – taking place as always on the 1st of January. The choir explained that due to the current restrictions, this annual event is being held at the Ghajnsielem Parish Church, starting at 7.30pm.

The Gaulitanus Choir, two of its soprano soloists, Anna Bonello and Patricia Buttigieg, guest soprano Georgina Gauci and violinist Pierre Louis Attard, will team up under the direction of Colin Attard to usher in the New Year with a varied selection of vocal and instrumental excerpts, mostly Christmassy.

Artistically directed by Colin Attard – Yuletide Bliss – is supported by the Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo.

All current health and safety measures issued by the Health Authorities are being observed and entrance is free.
