UM medical and pharmacy students in “clinical settings” have been informed that they have been placed on the priority list for Covid-19 vaccinations, the Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU) said.

This follows after earlier this week the KSU highlighted the fact that “these students had not yet received official confirmation as to when they will be receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.”

It had noted that ,”while we fully understand that a number of different groups require prioritisation,” it called for the “timely prioritisation of students who are attending placements, attachments or other teaching sessions within healthcare facilities to ensure the safety of students and patients and the successful completion of their coursework.”

KSU concluded by saying that it “hopes that all UM healthcare students including those at the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Dental Surgery will also be contacted over the coming days, so as to ensure the safety of students and patients, and the successful continuation of students’ studies.”
