Health authorities in a statement, said that is has just received official confirmation from AstraZeneca that the delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine sent earlier this week can be used.
This, after it was verified that the temperature of the vaccines was maintained according to the criteria established during their journey to Malta, the Health Department said.
Minister for Health Chris Fearne, informed the media yesterday that there was a question about one of the container temperature recorders that kept the vials and that despite there were other recorders which worked, health authorities wanted to be sure the vaccines remained good – a confirmation given by AstraZeneca earlier today, authorities said.
Authorities confirmed that the Covid-19 vaccine strategy can now continue as planned, with the first AstraZeneca vaccines starting to be given to non-medical frontliners under the age of 55.
