Opposition Spokesperson for Gozo, MP Chris Said, has called it “unacceptable,” that vulnerable Gozitans and frontliners are being asked to go to Malta to be vaccinated.
In a Facebook post, the MP stated that “according to information he had received, it seems that several Gozitan people considered ‘vulnerable’ and ‘frontliners’ have received an appointment to have the Covid-19 vaccine in Malta, and not in Gozo.
Dr Said went on to say that “if this is true, this situation is unacceptable. It certainly makes no sense for Gozitans and especially the vulnerable to be sent to Malta for vaccinations.”
The Gozitan MP argued that “it seems that little common sense is being used by the responsible authorities.”
He concluded by calling on the Government and the Department of Health to “find a solution and offer the Covid vaccine to all Gozitans in Gozo itself and in the shortest possible time.”
