10 bird carcasses were discovered last week by Customs Officials stationed at MaltaPost whilst screening parcels arriving from the UK.

Customs said that the Officials flagged a suspicious parcel for further controls, which when opened in the presence of MaltaPost representatives was found to contain the bird carcasses which were subsequently seized pending investigations.

ERA officials were called at the scene to identify the birds and proceed with the investigation.
