8 people fined in the Gozo court following Police road-checks

Police have advised that 8 people were collectively fined €19,100 in the Gozo Courts on Tuesday morning after they were found guilty of charges in relation to driving without a valid licence and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The 8 were charged separately, after being stopped during several road-checks on the island for any illegalities.
Apart from the fine, Police advised that 6 of them had their licence suspended for a year and 2 others had their licence suspended for 6 months.
Magistrate Joseph Mifsud presided, whilst the prosecution was led by Insp Josef Gauci.
