7 Saturdays in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

This coming Saturday, the 30th of May 2009, the Xlendi community begins the seven traditional, popular and devotional Saturdays in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, titular of the same community.
These Saturdays are held in spiritual preparation for the liturgical feast which is going to be celebrated on Thursday 16th July and the external feast which is going to be celebrated on Sunday 6th September 2009.
The programme of liturgical celebrations during these Saturdays is as follows:
The church is opened between 7.00am and 8.30pm without interruption.
7.30am: Holy Mass is said.
5.30pm: The Sacrament of Reconciliation is administered.
6.30pm: Holy Rosary, Traditional ‘kurunella’, Salve Regina and Eucharistic Benediction is imparted.
7.00pm: Solemn concelebrated Mass presided by Honorary Canon John Bosco Cremona, Rector of the Xlendi community, who delivers the homily in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Can. John Cremona is preparing to celebrate the 25th Anniversary (silver anniversary) since his installation as rector of the Xlendi community which happened on 12th August, 1984. Organist Mr. Ivan Attard animates mass every Saturday.
The Saturdays will be celebrated during these days: 30th May; 6th June; 13th June; 20th June; 27th June; 4th July and 11th July.
Fr. John Bosco Cremona invites everyone to attend these devotional Saturdays in preparation for the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel celebrated with solemnity in Xlendi.
