Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has visited the Astra Theatre to see the extensive work being carried out inside the complex.
The project – Identity of an Island – has been made possible through an investment of more than €176,000 from European funds and financed by the LEADER programme administered by the Gal Gozo foundation.
Work on the project will include the creation of space for exhibitions on various aspects of Gozitan history, which will also include cinematographic and theatrical exhibitions.
It will be used in May next year to host a series of events in anticipation of the annual Victoria Day celebrations, which will showcase the history, culture, architecture and art of the island and the capital city in its broadest form.
