The National Band Clubs Association is urging the authorities to start discussions about holding the 2022 village feasts without delay, so that they can be celebrated as before, including those of Holy Week.

The Association said that it noted “with regret the disproportionate measures being taken against Band Societies and feast enthusiasts during the celebrations or activities that these same Societies are organising.”

The Association in a statement, reminded that an application has been submitted which is pending before UNESCO in order feasts to be recognised as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO .

The organisation also urged all those who have yet to celebrate their feasts to do so in full respect of the directives and measures announced by the Public Health Authorities.
