22 new Covid-19 cases and 27 recoveries recorded, 9 are in hospital, with 2 in ITU

22 new Covid-19 cases have been found overnight with 27 recoveries. Authorities said that 9 Covid positive patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, down from 11 yesterday, 2 of whom are in the ITU.
There have been 457 deaths since the start of the pandemic. The number of active cases in Malta and Gozo is now at 328.
The number of vaccines administered is 822,097 up until yesterday, of which 10,836 are booster doses, the authorities said.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 23rd of September, it shows the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 36,994 and the number of deaths showing is 455. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is at 93.67.
The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.
