Il-Hagar museum in Victoria, Gozo, is presenting two lectures in November. The first is by its founder and curator Mgr Dr Joseph Farrugia, in conjunction with the current temporary exhibition “Joseph the silent witness.”

“Joseph of Nazareth, a man worth knowing” is taking place at 11am on Saturday, the 13th of November, promises a most interesting session since Mgr Farrugia, with strong experience as a university lecturer in theology, “has long been acknowledged as a master at this,” the museum said.

The second is a Tolkien lecture which will be presented by Rev Geoffrey George Attard on JRR Tolkien.

Professor John Ronald Reuel Tolkien CBE FRSL (1892 – 1973) was an English poet and philologist, but surely best known as the author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

“JRR Tolkien: Literary Genius for our Times” is at 7.30pm on Thursday, the 18th of November, promises a most interesting session. Canon Attard, a graduate at a number of British universities, is very interested in English culture.

Attendance for both lectures is free but seat bookings are requested at events@heartofgozo.org.mt. In the interest of all, a vaccination certificate has to be produced at the door.
