Gozo region once again records highest number of final deeds of sale

The latest data from the National Statistics Office show that the number of final deeds of sale relating to residential property in Malta and Gozo amounted to 1,324 in November, this was an increase of 363 deeds (37.0%) when compared to those registered last year.
Once again, the Gozo region recorded the highest number of final deeds of sale, with 201 the NSO said, this was up from 153 in the same month last year.
167 promise of sale agreements relating to residential property were registered during the same period in the Gozo region, this was up from the 146 agreements in November last year.
This information from the NSO presents provisional data on residential property sale transactions based on the date of registration with the tax authority.
In October, the NSO noted that the value of these deeds in Malta and Gozo totalled €293.3 million, 63.9% higher than the corresponding value recorded in November 2020.
In the month under review, 1,236, or 93.4%, of these final deeds of sale involved individual buyers (households), with companies accounting for virtually all the rest. The value of the deeds involving individual buyers (households) amounted to €263.9 million, equivalent to 88.4% of the total value, the NSO said.
With regard to the region the property is situated in, the highest numbers of final deeds of sale were recorded in the two regions, the other region apart from Gozo, was Haz-Zabbar, Ix-Xghajra, Iz-Zejtun, Birzebbuga, Marsaskala and Marsaxlokk, at 169.
The lowest numbers of deeds were noted in the region of Il-Birgu, L-Isla, Bormla and Il-Kalkara, and the region of L-Imdina, Had-Dingli, Ir-Rabat, L-Imtarfa and L-Imgarr. In these regions, 14 and 35 deeds were recorded respectively, the NSO said.
In November 2021, 1,251 promise of sale agreements relating to residential property were registered in Malta and Gozo, an increase of 208 agreements (19.9%) over the same period last year.
The NSO noted that Individual potential buyers (households) accounted for 1,138, or 91.%, out of the total promise of sale agreements, while the rest mainly involved companies.
The largest numbers of promise of sale agreements corresponded to residential properties apart from Gozo, were situated in the region of Il-Mellieha and San Pawl Il-Bahar, totalling 147.
The lowest numbers were noted in respect of properties located in the region of Il-Birgu, L-Isla, Bormla and Il-Kalkara, and the region of L-Imdina, Had-Dingli, Ir-Rabat, L-Imtarfa and L-Imgarr. The first-mentioned region accounted for 23 agreements and the second region accounted for 38 agreements.
