According to the Malta Police Union, those contracts which are due to elapse on the 31st of December for Reserved Police Constables (RPCs), will not be renewed.
In a statement, the Union said that by finding this out today it means these members of the Force have only been given 3 days notice that they will become unemployed on the 1st of January 2022.
”Strategies, press conferences and Facebook posts will not change the fact the Police Officers have always been, and still are considered sold meat without being given their dignity,” the Union said.
It stressed that ”this however will change as the Union will not permit those who think have some ‘power’ to roll over everyone.”
The Union concluded by saying that it will ”continue to be there to protect the interest of its members.”
