Three men aged 79,81 and 86, and an 89-year old woman have passed away in the last 24 hours while Covid-19 positive, authorities have said.

There were 285 new Covid-19 cases found overnight and 1,296 recoveries, which now takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo down to 6,926.

There are 100 patients requiring treatment in Mater Dei Hospital (which is the only hospital being reported) including 8 who are in ITU.

There have been 525 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The number of booster doses administered up until yesterday is 320,386.
