Police have said that a man was grievously injured during a fight on Saturday evening in Gozo.

The incident happened in Triq il-Qbajjar, Zebbug at around 10.30pm.

A 26-year old Sudanese man, who lives in Zebbug, went to the police station in Marsalforn and alleged that he had been attacked by another man with a sharp, pointed weapon.

The man was taken by ambulance to the Gozo General Hospital, where he was later certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing including out a search for the aggressor.
