A record number of 7 patients have passed away in the last 24 hours while Covid-19 positive.

Two men aged 86, and another aged 89, as well as 4 women aged 74, 81, 86 and 89 have all passed away overnight, authorities have said.

There were 273 new Covid-19 cases found overnight and 1,431 recoveries, which now takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo down to 5,761.

There are 93 patients requiring treatment in Mater Dei Hospital (which is the only hospital being reported) including 6 who are in ITU.

There have been 532 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The number of booster doses administered up until yesterday is 321,351.
