Proposals for the reintroduction of spring hunting have been presented to Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri – who is also responsible for the hunting and trapping sector – by a delegation from the Council of the Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FKNK).

In a statement, the FKNK said that its proposals are for the reintroduction of “traditional socio-cultural practices of spring hunting and trapping of turtle doves.”

During “a lengthy meeting” with the Minister, who is himself a hunter and trapper, the FKNK said that the two sides discussed various issues, in particular the “migration research project” of songbirds; taxidermy; bird-ringing; hunting from sea craft; and various projects being carried out by the FKNK, primarily that of barn owls and turtle doves.

How can they be “two sides?” Joint conspiracy perhaps?

Disgusting bunch of individuals. As a hunter and trapper Camilleri should have nothing to do with the hunting lobby. It is a clear conflict of interest. When will these Neanderthals rejoin the 21st century?
