An 89-year old man has passed away during the past 24 hours while Covid-19 positive, authorities said.

There were 143 new Covid-19 cases found overnight and 38 recoveries, which now takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo up to 1,413.

There are 49 patients requiring treatment in Mater Dei Hospital including 3 who are in ITU (figures for Gozo General Hospital have not been updated).

There have been 615 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The number of booster doses administered up until yesterday is 345,976.
