A talk about Gozo’s first poetess Mary Meylak and her unpublished poems, is going to take place at Il-Hagar museum.
Meylak (1905-75) is honoured as the first Gozitan poetess – was also one of the very first in the whole of Malta – and also produced works in numerous other literary categories, such as essays, drama and short stories.
This talk, which will be delivered in Maltese, is on Saturday, the 28th of May, starting at 11am by Dr Immanuel Mifsud MOM, senior lecturer in Maltese at the University’s Arts Faculty.
There is no entrance fee but an email to events@heartofgozo.org.mt is recommended. Presently the exceptional temporary exhibition of fifty works by twentieth century masters (“900”) is nearing the end of its run.
