A 67-year old motorcyclist from Xaghra was seriously injured after he was involved in a traffic accident in Gozo early on Wednesday morning.

Police said that the accident happened at around 6.30am in Triq it-Tigrija, Xaghra.

The preliminary investigations show that there was a collision involving an Isuzu Elf being driven by a 40-year old man from Paola and a Honda motorbike being ridden by the 67-year old man..

The motorcyclist was assisted at the scene by a medical team before being taken to the Gozo General Hospital where he was certified to have sustained serious injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
