Ghawdix, a young eNGO that is focusing on the protection of Gozo’s environment, has expressed its disgust at an application for a “garage on vacant plot” in Triq ta’ Hida, Nadur.
The application PA/04468/22 filed by Architect Alex Bigeni on behalf of Ronnie Camilleri, “is blatantly in the Outside Development Zone,” Ghawdix said.
It argued that the “the proposed site with the construction of a 94 square metre garage, is on the ridge of the Ramla l-Hamra Valley, thereby flagrantly breaching policy GZ-EDGE-2 the Gozo and Comino Local Plan.”
Ghawdix stated that “the side curtilage and the way the apertures on the side and back of the proposed building are laid out indicate that this permit is only a dwelling in disguise. Just add four gypsum partitions and we have a detached villa.”
Writing on social media, the eNGO is urging the public to put in representations against the proposed development, which has seen a good response with many objections registered.
